Cortes Apertas (literally “Open Courtyards) is an event that takes place from September to December in the province of Nuoro.
Every weekend in a different town, the owners of the historical houses open their courtyards to the visitors. In the courtyards are shown the ancient professions such as the manufacturing of wool and the threshing and the harvest of wheat, while traditional dances and singing are set up in the squares of the town.
The event has become one of the most important for the inland towns and dozens of thousands of people attend every year.
